Freud Quotes

I deeply admire the genius that was Sigmund Freud. Here are some quotes to digest and think on.

Men are strong so long as they represent a strong idea they become powerless when they oppose it.

If you can't do it, give up!

Illusions commend themselves to us because they save us pain and allow us to enjoy pleasure instead. We must therefore accept it without complaint when they sometimes collide with a bit of reality against which they are dashed to pieces.

It is impossible to overlook the extent to which civilization is built upon a renunciation of instinct.

Just as no one can be forced into belief, so no one can be forced into unbelief.

I have found little that is "good" about human beings on the whole. In my experience most of them are trash, no matter whether they publicly subscribe to this or that ethical doctrine or to none at all. That is something that you cannot say aloud, or perhaps even think.

Like the physical, the psychical is not necessarily in reality what it appears to us to be.

HST?

im not complaining about the HST for one reason..
i like to think of it as an insurance policy against bad leadership.
its the price it seems we have to pay for a while to gaurentee that McGuinty and his liberals will NEVER be re-elected. in just a few short years, we will have Tim Hudak, and REAL leadership in this province

Communism

communism is a plague. it causes the hard working to suffer, and supports the lazy sloth. in the ideal society, the hardworking and smart will be rewarded, while the lazy mongrol will suffer. by working and spending, i will support this ideal system, and fight the evils of communism, by working hard to make money, and then in turn spending money, thus completing the circle of capitalism, which keeps our society alive. one must be cautious however, not to spend more money then one has, otherwise the circle will deteriorate, and eventually collapse. by maintaining the perfect balance of earning and spending, i will fight the evils of communism, and bring an end to the marxist plague on this earth.
